Halloween Fun

Max was a not-too-scary skeleton (with ribs that lit up in green) and Lucy was Ariel (among a virtual sea of Ariels in our town).  We had fun!

Max and his long-time buddy Mac (dressed as a pro-wrestler).

Lucy loved having sprayed-on red hair for the day!

Lucy and her best buddy Emma (as Belle with wings?).

Our good friend Lyndsey and Lucy (in another outfit!) as an Indian princess.

Max Baseball Drawing

Even though we don’t have cable TV, we’ve been able to see a bit of baseball playoffs/World Series and Max has been intrigued.  Here’s his latest homage to the great American pastime:

Yearly Pictures

Well, years ago I decided I was too cheap to take the kids to Sears or a portrait place, so our front yard is the location!  Here’s 5 year old Lucy and 9 year old Max:

More Great Chatter

Lucy now has a fever (sorry D’Elias – hope you don’t get it), and although her eyes are half glazed over, she is still very eloquent and silly.

“Mom, did you know that even though I have a fever and I am HOT, and my body is COLD (chills), I am really just WARM!”

We skipped doing regular lessons with her and I told her she could watch a science movie.  This is like a Discovery Channel video of bears or penguins, etc.  She groaned (she doesn’t care for these much) and said, “I wish science movies were illegalled!”

Our Dear Friends!

We had the joy of hosting our wonderful friends, Frank, Sheryl, Lizzy and Danny D’Elia at our home this past weekend.  I have known Frank since I was 15 – he was wearing his crazy fish tie at the LAB graduation, and offered me a ride home when I had none.  So – over 20 years ago!  Frank and Sheryl are lovely home-schoolin’ folk, and we are so glad our kids love to play together.  We launched a baking soda/vinegar rocket together – I think Matt is working on uploading those videos – they are really funny.

Here’s a professional pic that their friend Gem, an excellent photographer in the LA area, took recently (http://gemhelen.com/):
